Thinking about doing some Bay Area CX races this season...old man class 45+...do they have a 50+?
I'm assuming we need to go to usacycling and get a license?

Just bought an 09 Jamis Supernova practically new...asides from the toe-in adjustment issues on the brakes (orange-velo adjustable shoes on order!), it rides sweet...better than my LeMond Zurich. Haven't taken it off road yet as it came with road tires and I haven't mounted cross tires yet.

only 45+ and then 55+, nothing inbetween. And what is crazy is that there are some seriously strong 55+ guys out there that can whip on many 45+ dudes. You do need a license for the Pilarcitos series. In Santa Rosa the Bike Monkey guys will be putting on 4 races this year and no license is needed. Maybe see ya out there!
You may want to plan out your season and look at the races you may do. If most do not require a license, you may be better off not getting one and racing under a one-day license for the races that do require. I raced for a year before I put down the money on a full license.
Also, the CCCX series, in the Monterey area, doesn't require a license. So, time to start training and working on your dismounts and remounts.
