I told a couple people on here that I would let them know when the Rutgers CX clinic was coming up- it's a cheaper/closer alternative to some of the bigger/longer clinics if you're on a tight budget, especially since it's only an hour by train from NYC!

Hope to see some of you there!

Thanks Molly.  Anywhere I might be able to find more info on the length of the 2 days?  If there is an "agenda" of what topics will be covered when?  I think it could be useful for my skills and preparation, but am concerned about fitting it in with other obligations.
Schedule should be up on bikereg, check the flyer on there!
Just start times for each event.  It would just be nice to know if it is an all day thing, 1 hour session, 3 hour session, etc.  I'll contact the organizers through BikeReg with my question.

Thanks to George from Rutgers, I have some more details for those interested. Looks like the sessions will be 2 hours each, Saturday evening and then again Sunday morning.

Saturday: equipment (sizing, fitting, tire selection, brakes, tire pressure), race starts drill, first lap/bumping drill, cornering drill, dismounts drill

Sunday: training theory, race day prep, ethics/strategy, small group work (dismounts drill, run-up drill, off-camber drill, group riding, finishing/sprinting, minimizing mistakes)

Awesome, glad George was so helpful!

Hope to see you there!

Thanks Molly, just registered!
Great! Make sure to say hi when you're there!
Looks like it will be a cozy group.  Looking forward to it and meeting some fellow crossers.
Just a quick thanks to the Rutgers guys and gals for putting on a very worthwhile clinic.  Unfortunately I missed Sunday due to some unforeseen family stuff, but got a nice workout in the rain Saturday and have the bumps and bruises as reminders that I need to practice and hone my technique a bit more.  Overall, a nice crash course back into cross for the season.

Glad you enjoyed it, I had a great time as well! It's too bad you missed Sunday (that was the day I managed to get some pictures), the sun finally came out (a little too hot, unfortunately) but it was a blast in general.

Hope to see you during the season at some races!

A big thanks to everyone who helped run the 2-day clinic.  I went from zero practical knowledge to thinking, 'yeah, I can do this'.  You learn the individual drills and then as a whole the skills fall into place.  What a blast and the few bumps and scrapes just add to the sense of camaraderie.  It was great to see Molly there too!
Aww, thanks! It was great meeting you too! And you totally were doing great by the end of Sunday.
