I want to use my compact dura ace 7950 crank for cyclocross, but the outer chainring bolts don't appear to be standard - see picture attached. Has anyone swapped the outer ring? If so any tips? Did you need different bolts? What chainring did you use? Thanks.

Hey Steve,

I just did this with an Ultegra 6700 crankset. I used Stu Thorne's chainrings from CXW (http://cyclocrossworld.stores.yahoo.net/chainrings.html). You will need to get 10sp chainring bolts to replace the bolts that come with the Shimano chainrings. I think you can get them at CXW or from your LBS. I rented some wheels to a girl from Philly recently that was running the DA 7950 set up with the aboved mods and it worked very well for her.

Hope that helps.
Hey Echappe Equipment,

Thanks for the info. If you can, upload a pic of your setup, I am sure others would be interested to see what this looks like.
