Does anyone have any photos or designs for pit sticks? I've seen a few; the best seems to be the ones used by the neutral support mechanic who was at the Warwick, RI New England Verge races earlier this month. He could adjust the height and, because of the design, the stick was really, really solid.

Thanks.

I don't know if this is what you mean, but here is my Click-Stand (www.click-stand.com).

It is a foldable portable kick stand designed for touring bikes but my pal Tom made me one for my pit bike.

Be warned...while well worth the price Tom really rides his bikes (long and far) and therefore is out of the shop for some time.

That's perfect! I ordered a couple of pit sticks from Mark in Massachussetts, which I'm really excited about. The click stands are much lighter. Does it work okay without engaging the brake, as the website recommends?
Tom sells the little brake bands with the stick...I promptly lost both bands.

Because cross is off road, I just jam the end into the ground and lean the bike a bit. I have not had a problem.

Now if some dude(ette) comes screaming through the pit and does his/her best pigeon-trapped-in-a-dumpster impression, your bike will go down, BUT I suppose it would with the brake bands too.

The click stands also fold up and if you watch the animation, they literally "click" into place. It is like having a really boring transformer hold up your bike.

A trick I use is to have a little flag with my name on it...it doesn't prevent any folding or keep me from carrying it in my jersey, but when I change a bike it makes it easier to find post-race.
