Does anyone know if there will some sort of public shuttle available in Louisville to get between the downtown hotels and the race course? I called the Galt House Hotel and they had no idea, having not been told anything by the organizers (and they weren't providing one themselves).
Any help? I really don't want to rent a car there. Seems silly to rent one to drive 2.5 miles--and then not have anywhere to park anyway. The Louisville2013 website doesn't provide any information either.
cheers,
bob

I'm haven't yet looked further than the map, but it looks like a few city bus routes get close:

If anyone who lives in the area could pitch in, I'd appreciate it.
I heard back from the Louisville 2013 website people. We are on our own. No shuttles have been organized. You'll have to rely on your own car, bike, feet, or the bus and your feet or bike.
Am I the only one that things this is pretty poor planning on their part?
I totally agree with you.. But lets not go there. If you book your stay at the at the "Alternate Motel room rate blog posts at Cxmag. They will provide shuttle service to a number of local destinations, i.e downtown, the airport.
Yeah, kinda sucks, but make the most of it. I know @Louisville2013 is trying to organize ride shares. I am sure you could stand in the lobby of the Galt House and snag a ride. And the venue is about 3 miles from most of the hotels. Bring a bike!
Ride sharing is a great idea! Love to bring a bike but we'd be flying in.
Fingers crossed we can make it!
My plan is to use my pit bike for transportation while I'm there.
Good plan. It's a reasonably flat city (esp downtown). I was car free for years there, no problems at all.
