I don't know what it is about Stony Creek, but it always kicks my ass. I had my best finish ever today (7th), and even though I was glad for that, I was whipped at the end. For some reason Stony lends itself to being a "power course" no matter how Robert and crew design it. And if there's something I need to work on this coming off season it's power.

I agree! What a tough race. That sand, the section climbing out of the sand and into the mud and then up the switch back climb just zapped my energy. What is normally a fast roadie course turned into a power fest... But still fun! I really added some variation to the overall series. Great job Joe Brown for help with the course set up!

It was much harder than I was expecting. I dont know why, I guess because I think of it as a flat course.
Lots of fun though.

Whew... That was something. Nice open course with some sand and a little mud thrown in for good measure. Stony Creek you never disappoint.

Thanks Gary - I may just be in SE Michigan friday and saturday and head back west Sunday (family on both sides of the state). I'll post another message closer to that weekend to see if you might be out and about around there!

Hi Flo,

If you are going to be in town over Thanksgiving and plan on racing that weekend, I'm assuming you will be on the west side of the state, since we don't have any races on the east side that weekend. If, by chance, you'll be in the Detroit area, a couple of friends and I typically meet up at a local park and do some hot laps and barrier work. It's a good time and really low key. Since there are no races that weekend for us, we will likely be at the park at least 2 days during the long weekend. You are more than welcome to join us. I can give you details as it gets closer and we have times firmed up, etc.
