Jon,

Welcome to your new crack fix! Glad to see your a junkie now.

Here is another funny story that deals with Jon.... The same guys from Kentucky that introduced Jon to CX, actually raced for TSB a few years ago as the KY chapter! Long story, but funny. So this year when Curt and I went to the USGP in KY we finally got to me the Kentucky boys... and who else did we meet -- Jon! What a small world and what small fruity family we belong to called Cyclocross! Hup! Hup! Hup!

Welcome to the group.

Thanks for posting the video, and tell your wife thanks for filming it.

Hey Jon!

Welcome to the group. I just got started in this crazy, painful and beautiful world of cyclocross last year. What a great time. I've raced road and mtb and this is by far the most fun I've had racing. Sounds like the CX bug has already bitten you, so it's in your blood now...

Are you going to the state championship? If so, maybe we'll cross paths. Always good to meet a fellow 'crosser!

Hello all,

Slowly getting sucked into the whole CX culture, so joining here is just another step in the process. This is my first year in CX, and riding, and I have to say it has been a blast. I have to thank Doug R. down in Louisville for introducing me to the sport,

Here's a video I put together containing clips from a few of the last races. Its a little self centered, but my gorgeous videographer really doesn't know who else to film yet.

Watch close and you might catch a glimpse of yourself.

I also wanted to say thanks to John and Curt over at TSB for their hospitality at the races.

John, that's awesome, look at you now!

I was a good 20 lbs heavier than I am now and was coming off a 9 year hiatus from road racing. Figured I'd give this cyclocross thing a try after my buddy Steve kept talking about it and Jeff at Kinetic convinced me to go to one of the Rhino's 'cross practices. The rest is history.

My 1st race was at Stony Creek in 2006. I raced C's. I weighed 233 lbs. I remember this feeling like puking in my mouth the whole time! Then I remembered Matt Ashley lapping me. I knew then that 1, I love this stuff! 2, it was really painful. And 3, I would never get lapped again by the leader no matter how much I suffered. I finished the rest of the series placing consistently 4th from last place in every race! I think I earned a total of 9 points for the series that year. It has been game on from there.

Fun race today. That B race was a blast to watch.

My first 'cross race was day 1 of Vet's Park last year. That was a fun race, but the only other one I did last year was the snow-bound state championship race at Waterford Hills. That race was horribly damaging to my ego... I was slipping and falling everywhere and getting in other peoples way. I think I was the last one into the taped off portion after the start, sort of the opposite of the hole shot. I overdressed and felt over-heated even though it was in the 20s. It was a nightmare, but somehow I still had fun.
