yup. coaltion of teams from the area that train, travel, and promote the grangue races, the fairhill cross race (w/ FSVS), and help my team's race charm city.

you gotta pull through is the rule, no one rides for free.

check out dennisbike.com to see some pictures of past races here. The course is good, not too much elevation change, twisty, off the bike 4 times a lap, a little run up. Has a special place in my heart. My advise would be to be aggressive early and keep moving up. And have lots of fun...

  • Megan

    Yes! For sure!!
  • Albino

Sure, I'll need to contact the photographer of the Bike Toss photo to get a high res for print. What's your deadline?
  • sasha

I'd be happy to send you the file. What's the preferred resolution? High as possible?

    Good Morning,

Perfectly OK to use the image. I'll send over a full-rez (600dpi) actually as scanned tonight, but in the meantime you could download a slightly compressed / scaled down image of the same pic here:-

    http://threepeaksironcross.blogspot.com/

Where you'll see there is a full caption / info too...

Whilst on the subject. Although I have a limited no. of vintage shots like this (a few) - I have been sent some pix by a former UK Pro' rider from the late '70s / early '80s - Barry Davies, which might be of interest. You can find some downloadable versions of a small no. of these pix on the same blog (on the earlier pages from Sept. '08). I'm sure Baz would have no objections to their use.

He contacted me because of my connection now with the Iron Cross races organised by Mark Laser / Yellow Breeches Racing out of PA, USA. and he plans to ride this year's race during the coming October. Iron Cross and the Three Peaks are certainly races which are worthy of editorial comment / feature in any 'Cross publication - they attract scant attention really considering their importance, and if you need anything connected with either event (pix /text) let me know. Aagin I have both 'stuff' and the contacts.

    Regards,

    Ian Briggs

Karen Jarchow took a bunch of great pics yesterday and she says it is fine to use them, she offered to send high rez versions on a disc. I can get her your e-mail. Alot of what she took is on my Addicted to Bicycles blog today...use what you want, we had a great turn out and some great races with some pretty big names...

Hey JMack, I read that you're doing an article on long-distance 'cross-type races. I've started a thread on the CXMagazine forums that identifies a number of these types of events if you need more information on them.

I can't wait to read the article. Those types of events just have a certain pull that really excites me.

    Take care.
