Got into competitive cycling in high school. Knew cross was out there, but in those days, down south, it was just something happening in another world. Life and career as a naval officer intervened for awhile, but got back into cycling in 1993. Moved to NC in 1998 and was quite amazed to find a very strong and well developed cross series in place. Finally jumped in 2003 and have been doing it ever since. Most fun you can have on a bike and a lot of other places. Cross is a reasonable substitute for the high adventure I used to get flying from aircraft carriers.

NC Cyclocross Series - many great venues.
Too many bikes to love, too little time.
Favorite thing about cyclocross:
The camraderie and getting to be a kid again rolling around in the mud and charging through the woods.
How long have you been racing cyclocross?
Since 2003 - Just finishing season15. Missed 2016-2018 & 2020 for various reasons.
