I am married, a father of three with a full-time job in IT management - and I am a cyclist. A hardcore cyclo-cross racer that uses the Road season to stay in shape for the fall and winter. I upgraded to cat 3 (Xcross) i December of 2008. I put my cycling dreams on hold to go to college, get married and start a family - now, I'm back at it. Road: Velo Vie Vitesse 300 - Full SRAM Force with Easton controls
Cannondale CAAD3 CX frame - Race Face cranks/BB and Shimano 105 components. Old LX MTB brakes and Rolf Vector Comp Wheels. She may not be pretty, but she gets the job done.
2008 Felt F1X - Full Ultegra 10spd, carbon fork - got her right after the 2008 season wrapped up so 2009 will be her virgin run...I can't wait.
Road (Trainer Bike): 2002 LeMond Zurich - Full Ultegra
MTB : GT Zaskar LE (one of the last hand made HTs that GT produced in the mid-90s) - SidSL and Full XTR
Locally I would have to say it's the AZ State Xcross Championships. But for the National/Elite circuit - the USGP races are sweet. Wish I could travel more.
Favorite thing about cyclocross:
The rush of high-intensity racing and the atmosphere. I can bring my family (wife and three small kids) to the races and everyone has a great time! The sound of cowbells and screaming fans. It's just the perfect blend of fitness and fun.
