This is sort of a feeler to see if there's any interest in my Alpha Q CX-20 cyclocross fork, particularly for trade although I'd be open to cash as well. Here's the info: Alpha Q CX-20 full carbon cyclocross fork - 47mm rake, 395mm axel to crown measurement, steerer cut to 25.4cm/10". I purchased this as a part of a new Salsa Chili Con Crosso frameset last year and had Calfee Design (http://www.calfeedesign.com/) strip the paint and respray the fork in a matte clear finish. As an OEM, painted fork it has no cosmetic layer of carbon to make it pretty so this fork has a sort of patchwork look if you get up close. Anyway, I bought it to lighten up my IF Planet 'Cross (shaved more than a pound off the bike!) but with a baby at home I only did 2 races last year and a handful of training rides - probably less than 6 hours of use; maybe less than 5 and consequently the condition is almost new (NO CRASHES). My priorities are a little different this year and the steel fork on my bike is fine for my purposes despite the weight.

As mentioned previously, the steerer was cut down to 25.4cm (top of baseplate/crown race to top of steerer) and the aluminum sleeve (for the star-nut) was epoxied in. You can cut the steerer down another 2cm if need be or if you need a shorter steerer you can cut below the insert and epoxy a new sleeve in. I'll leave the Chris King baseplate on the fork but would prefer to keep the Tektro CR720 brakes but depending on the swap could include them as well.

Here's some stuff I'd be interested in:

Steel road frameset or complete bike - an older Trek, Bianchi, or similar would be cool - Surly Steamroller could be OK too - approx 56cm x 56cm. Paint doesn't have to be great but NO DENTS.

Steel or aluminum CX frameset - Redline? Surly Cross Check? I'm open. 56cm +/- .5 top tube

Wheelset with lots of life left - Shimano 8/9/10 hubs (105/Ultegra/DA) laced to good clincher rims: Velocity/Mavic - or - system wheels; Ksyrium Elites? Might be open to something else but probably no Bontragers or older Rolfs

9spd Shimano shifters (Ultegra or DA in nice shape) or takeoff 5700 or 6700 shifters

I'd like to keep the swap equal/cashless but depending on the proposed trade we could talk about a little cash either way. Shoot me a line if you have something I may be interested in. And it would probably be best if you're in the Seattle area but we could talk about shipping. Thanks! Kevin

Hello - I have a spare set of DA 7700 shifters I'd swap for the fork (no need for the brakes).  They have a few scratches but work perfectly.  I will send pictures if you're interested.

thanks.

Brian

Brian - please do send pictures. I have some other folks interested as I also posted on CL so I'm kind of waiting to see what people have as this is a trade deal. FYI - I'd probably need something in addition to the shifters but I'l take a look at the pics and we can discuss offline after that.  Sound OK? Thanks - Kevin - krusch88@hotmail.com
