I've seen a video "out there" that shows the course after a muddy race and then again a couple weeks later if they are worried about damage. It's a good example of "it's not as bad as it looks" but sorry to say it doesn't include anything about what Cross racing is. There's plenty of those you can borrow off Cross Tube.
