i'm building a mountain frame as a pit bike for nationals this dec.

are disc brakes legal for CX nationals? ( junior racer)

it's always confusing and they've changed the rules over time but I don't believe they are legal. I think the "worlds" categories for a long time were the categories not banning the brakes, but now I believe even masters can't use them. the only two categories that they're ok are B's and singlespeed - the non title categories.

we'll double check but lsat season I think that was the rule. how tall are you? what size? I'm sure this community can set you up with an emergency pit bike if you need one.

[the cx community will always come through...my team provided a pit bike for daniele pontoni in '98...he frowned at its weight but was thankful for the option.]
