hey all i'm thinking of a new cross bike for next season, any of you have a 2011 specialized S-works crux this season? what did it weight (i would ride a 58) and what did you think of it? i'm on one of the tricross expert's now and i really like it and the 58 works has all the same numbers frame wise. i'ed just like to know if i'm going to save some weight?

thanks

Of course you'll save some weight, but not alot and probably not enough to matter much.  What you will gain will be a stiffer frame (due to the CF layup), which you may or may not prefer.

here's a recent bike test from Cross Bike Review -- they liked it -- sort of:

Oh dood, that review was very hard to read. All over the place and had soooo many typos.  In one of their last issues CXM had a review of the alum crux that was pretty comprehensive and positive.  The new carbon Crux should be that geometry if you want to wait. Are you racing a lot, or riding trails, dirt roads, or on the road?

racing! TT and cross are what i do most.

Based on the CXM review, I'd wait for the newer geometry. Makes sense, shorter chainstays, tighter wheelbase, etc.
