I've been using an old Terry Zero for a couple seasons now. I used it on the road for about 5 years prior. It's long, with a narrow nose, and fairly wide at the back. It's really comfortable, but I think the padding (which was already minimal) is really starting to compress. It's time to retire it.

So, I'm thinking about a WTB Devo to replace it. I know saddles are really personal preference, but do you guys have any recommendations? Any to steer clear of for 'cross?

Thanks,

Andy

+1 for the Devo.

If you hadn't mentioned it I was going to. It's easy to slide on and off of, and just big enough to make a good "landing pad."
I hear Andrew bought a sweet Fizik that is "unique"...

Selle San Marco Aspide or a classic Selle Italia Flite. Who needs padding?
I really like the arionne actually. it's nice and long and flat, and has a good amount of flex. I'd stay away from anything that absorbs water or has carbon rails. i haven't experienced any problems personally with carbon rails but don't want to really risk it.
I'm with Andrew on this one. Every year I keep trying to go "light-weight-minimalist" but I keep going back to the Arionne. Nice long landing pad, doesn't suck water or mud, and a nice pedaling platform. One problem I have with thin saddles is not the top, but the sharp edge on the side ... if you dork the remount you can really crush or dig into your hamstring. Sometimes by the last lap or so my form gets a little "off target" so I always consider worst case in choosing gear. The Arionne has a nice side "bumper" to it.
san marco concor... gots one on every bike... no issues with the lip in the back for cross yet... best saddle made - ever

:D

that or the fact that I've been riding them exclusively for, um, 18 years has molded my ass to fit them
I'd stay away from any Brooks saddles ...
Specialized toupe for me.
sella italia flite is what I use.

I love em!
