UCI in Cal?

I believe that the 10/13-10/14 weekend will be at the traditional Spooky Cross venue in Irvine. The 10/13 race is rumored to be part of a night race series that includes Cross Vegas and Star Crossed. I haven't heard about the 12/3-12/4 weekend but in the last couple of years, UCI events have been held at the Bonelli, Griffith Park, and Hansen Dam venues. Dorothy Wong and SoCalCross will be doing the promotion - you can find their web site here.

 

BTW, Mark Colton has some excellent videos from last year's UCI races at Griffith Park and Bonelli - as well as Spooky Cross - in his Vimeo feed.

 

I
suggested the brain transplant that was used to convert Mer into the Axl
surrogate. This had impact in both FY2009 and FY2010. I don’t believe that I
made any other construct suggestions on the Axl protein that led to its
eventual crystallization and structure.

Aw, Spooky Cross is gonna be a UCI event? That's a bummer. At the Griffith Park cross, a whole bunch of races got jammed together, which meant running under UCI rules, which meant the commissaires pulled people left and right. Frustrating as hell.

While I'm glad Dorothy's going to get more recognition and more racers, UCI's uptightness feels so antithetical to cross, and even more antithetical to Spooky.
