I'm putting together an article on folks who bike commute to 'cross races for Issue 10 of Cyclocross Magazine. I wish more people did it, and am going to try to bike commute to local races more myself in 2010.

Have an interesting story or a method or contraption for carrying all of your gear? Drop me an email ASAP, we want to talk to you.

I only did it once or twice. The contraption is called my car, driven by my wife. I think the key thing is timing the commute to act as a good warmup and then riding right home after! Or having dry clean warm clothes in your bag. But the aspect of driving two hours to race for 35 minutes doesn't feel right.
A short commute to race for me last season meant that it was under three hours and didn't require a hotel room on Saturday night!
A short car commute I guess I should specify
I wish I could but the closest race to me last year was 1.5 hours.

Put 5,000 miles on my car traveling to 20 some races last year. This year will be no different
