We need to be careful

Posted on October 12, 2010 at 7:13am 0 Comments

I just recieved an email from the director of the facility and he expressed concern that riders are riding too close to the fence line of the facility. PLEASE take this warning seriously and only use the courses we have marked out. If we don't follow the rules we risk losing the privilege to train there. Also he said this showed up on a video on a Thursday night. We really need to keep it to Wednesday's only. unless you let me know in advance so I can inform them.

This week at Lookout

Posted on September 14, 2010 at 7:15am 0 Comments

Since the season "officially' started last week at Steamboat, it's time for us to start "racing" as well.

We'll have our "start" at 5:30 and go 6 laps. Feel free to jump in and out at will or stay in for the entire time. Just remember, this is training! The real racing is on the weekends. We don't want people ruining their seasons fighting for lines in a training race to take care of each other. You don't have to wait till 5:30 to train and you can stay as long as you want. Just be…

We'll start "racing" soon

Posted on September 4, 2010 at 12:24pm 0 Comments

So I heard that there were close to 30 riders last Wednesday! Cool! Keep coming out. Keep telling your friends. I'm going to ask a favor of all of you. I had originally planned to start our "racing" this Wednesday at 5:30. I'm going to ask your indulgence and permission to wait one more week. Here's why. I want to be there the first night we "race" and this week is a Jewish holiday - Rosh Hashana. I need to do the family thing and will be gone by 5:30. So let's keep just doing open training… Continue

They just keep getting better

Posted on August 29, 2010 at 2:11pm 2 Comments

Our Wednesday training sessions are growing every week. The course is getting ridden in and looking great. For this week we'll have open training again. The following week which is the Wednesday after Labor Day we'll organize a "race" situation. The "start" time will be 5:30 to give everyone a chance to get there from work. We'll roll off then and "race" 6 laps which should be equal to about 45 minutes. So, this week train, next week come to "race". See you there.

It's Growing

Wow! Last Wednesday we had twice as many riders as the week before. Only about 20, but still it's growing. All I could do was ride around easy and show people where the course went since I'd already beat myself up doing hard efforts before anyone else got there. For the next couple of weeks we'll keep the training informal. If you want to go hard, have fun. If you want to work on skills, we have some portable barriers to use. I'm thinking that the Wed. after Labor Day we'll start something a… Continue

Great! If you just want to attend I'll send you a link in a few days. If you want to participate in the Q&A I'll need to chat with the 'host' and get you added as a moderator - either is easy. Let me do some background and see what the specific computer requirements are to be able to talk - it's pretty easy really.
