A little more info might help us answer the question.
-What tires
-Tubular or Clincher or Tubeless
-What do you consider "low"?
-When you say, "my tire will wash out on turns", are we talking off camber gravel corners on decents, single track or a 'cross course or a paved road with gravel in the corner?

This might also not be an equipment issue, but possibly a weight distribution on the bike through corners. Try to find some pictures of Jamey Driscoll riding through corners. Look at how low he puts his chest to the top tube. Keeping your weight low and balanced through a corner can help ground the bike and not overwhelm the tires.

Thanks.
thanks first of all. my front and back tire around 50psi, clincher tires and this usually happens on a sharp or quick cross course. one time i actualy picked up some grass and dirt between my rim and tire. i will try finding pics of jamey driscoll. thanks for the reply
depending on how much you weigh, that sounds very high -- bump the pressure down...
i am 270
also, not sure if you downhill ski, but if you're not pedaling through a corner, it's like carving a turn in skiing. drop the outside pedal in a corner put your weight on that pedal. that should help with both the traction and the tire collapsing.
50 sounds high, but if you're picking up dirt and grass between your rim and tire then the tire may be folding a bit. I'd pick up some higher volume tires, 35c maybe. This should help. I've found that some tires allow me to ride a reasonably low pressue without pinch flats but in a tight corner the tire will fold on me so I have to be careful about the tires I choose if I want to run a good low pressure.
definitely go with a 35c tire - find the widest ones that are still 35 (check the back issues of the Mag for the reviews of clinchers)...

that or go tubular...

and what tires are you running?

there are some that washed out more for me than others - some tires I just flat out couldn't slow down (tires would lock up before providing any bite)... i'm flirting with the 200 pound line - right now above it... hoping to slip below sooner than later....

how you turn is also important. Setting up for the turn is more important than your tires or the pressure - taking a turn badly can roll a tubular or even a clincher if you aren't careful...
